- Scope and Content:
- Letter from Myron to Blanche. He writes her wondering how she is doing because he has not heard from her in a while and hopes she has not caught the flu from those she is caring for. He tells her that he is unable to get a commission due to his eye even though he got high marks on the exams, higher than most of those who did make commission. He feels like a failure and all he is good for his playing football for the Navy. He tells that he has made Captain of the team and tells her about some of the games they have had already and some of their upcoming matches. He hopes to see her soon and asks her to please write even a line so he knows she is all right. Based off of other letters from Myron this letter was most likely written at the end of October or early November 1918.
