- Letter from Alice Stone in North Edgecomb, ME, to her husband, Robert "Bobby" Stone, dated September 9, 1920. In the letter, Alice updates her husband on her day, spending several pages detailing her trouble in trying to buy a train ticket. She notes regulation states you cannot buy a ticket more than a day in advance, which was not the case the last time she purchased tickets, and meant she had to exchange her purchase. She also spends several pages detailing her trip to visit friends, especially the visit to Mrs. Collins, who is in the midst of a family quarrel over property. Alice notes Mrs. Collins could find nothing else to talk about, despite other conversation being brought up. She goes on to talk about the weather, her painting, and the children.
