- The New Hampshire Governor's Horse Guards Records, 1999-2015, consists of nine letters, two certificates, and one organizational history that span a 16 year period. The letters run from the first requests to reestablish the Governor's Horse Guards all the way to current day certificates from 2007. Multiple letters are from Jeanne Shaheen discussing the formation of the Guards as well as their various roles. Other authors include current commander of the Horse Guards, Richard Lynch and Major General in the New Hampshire National Guard John. E. Blaire and other New Hampshire government officials including Secretary of State William M. Gardner, Director of Appointments Kathy Goode, and Governor John H. Lynch. All of the letters either discuss how to reestablish the Horse Guards or recent performances by them. All but one of the items in the collection range in date from 1999-2007, with one being from 2015. Most of the items in the collection are originals, but the Certificate of Existence from the New Hampshire Department of State and the September 28, 1999 letter from Jeanne Shaheen are copies. Included is a certificate of appreciation from the town of Swampscott, MA, thanking the Horse Guards for their participation in two military funerals.
