- Letter from Alvin Russell Davis to Bertha E Stearns dated January 30, 1918. The letter is addressed from 'somewhere in France'. Alvin writes that he misses Bertha and that he hears she is snowed in in Keene, New Hampshire. He is experiencing warmer weather now. He will try to meet 'Anna's man', who is in the same French village as Alvin. Alvin also repeats he hopes Bertha will stay in Keene teaching and will not become a Red Cross Nurse, as she does not know what she would face in France. He hopes to be back by next Christmas so they can go to the movies together again.
