Real estate record book for the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company in Manchester, NH, dated 1838 to 1945. In 1838, the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company began construction of mills and worker's housing on the east bank of the Merrimack River. This record book is organized by lot number, with some pages missing. For lots 4 through 147 (non-continuous), there is the following information: the location of the lot; the day, month, and year of the transaction; book number; lease number; and the name of the person completing the transaction, as well as how much they paid. In the back of the volume, there are drawings of some of the lots, which identify the location of the lots based on the surrounding streets and the size of the lots. Some of these drawings contain the names of people who purchased or leased the lots. There are directions to "see Book pages," but those instructions are not referring to this volume.
