Undated photographic print of the Philip Eastman House at 215 Eastman Street in Concord, NH. The caption states, "Philip Eastman House Built - 1755 East Concord 215 Eastman Street. This house was built in 1755 by Philip Eastman, son of Capt. Ebenezer Eastman, born November 13, 1713. He was a man of great resolution and force, of sound judgment, and took a leading part in the business of the Proprietors and in town affairs, one of the most useful citizens of his generation. He marries Abiah Bradley, and they had three children. When the news of the massacre of 1746 reached Mr. Eastman he was living the farm where now is located the Concord Country Club, He said to his wife, sister to the Bradleys who were killed, 'Come, Abiah, let us go.' She replied, 'I am ready,' and at a single bound sprung upon the horse's back, behind her husband -- and then they rode on full canter down to Capt. Eastman's fort. At the town meeting in March, 1776, Philip Eastman was chosen one of five on the committee of safety for the parish of Concord. Mr. Eastman being chairman of this committee, meetings were frequently held in the southeast corner room on the first floor of this well-built, capacious house erected by him in 1755; a house, which-it may be here added - was to be occupied by his descendants in direct line to the fourth generation, in 1900 this house was in the possession of Jonathan Eastman Pecker, at his death he willed the property to Miss Caroline Baker."
