- Letter from Calvin M. Burbank to Henry H. or Sarah J. Gerrish, dated December 22, 1861 from Chickamuxon [Chicamuxen], Maryland. The letter is addressed to West Yard, New Hampshire. Calvin recounts a sermon he heard and the beautiful music around the camp. He thanks his cousins and friends for the gifts they have sent them, and expresses gratitude at seeing a 'New England woman', though he hasn't the space to make a contrast between Southern and Northern women.
