- Letter from J. C. Calvert in Dardanelles to Captain John Long on the U.S.S. Mississippi, dated September 10, 1851. In the letter, Calvert informs Long that they are all under a quarantine until the 17th, per order of the Health Office. He advises Long to not contact the Turkish Steam Frigate so their guests will not be transferred into a quarantine.
