- Letter from Sarah Hammond Grimes Smith to her sister, Almira Grimes. Letter written July 23, 1859. Sarah writes to thank Almira for her letter. She herself is continuing to recover but is sad to hear that Abigail and Thomas' family have colds. Sarah wishes she were with the family to help care for them. The Dr. continues to take good care of her and she has enjoyed cooking. Sarah is somewhat lonely and sad to hear of Mary Louisa's death.
