Scope and Content:
Letter from Addie Erwin in East Sullivan, NH, to Bertha Stearns in Keene, NH, dated January 26, 1919. In the letter, Addie notes she has not been able to call on Bertha because Mr. Erwin has been sick and she has been very busy. She discusses the winter, which has seen a lot of people very ill, and thinks they "have a lot to be thankful for if one has escaped the Influenza". She goes on to inquire if Bertha has heard from Russell (Alvin) as she has not heard from him for over a month and wishes she could hear from him more often. Addie writes that the 26th has done their part in the war and deserves all the praise. She then updates Bertha on Russell, who she felt "looked rather poor and his eyes showed what he had been through" in the photograph from his time in hospital, though he writes he is much better and on kitchen duty.
