Letter from Edward E. Sturtevant in Concord, NH, to George W. Sturtevant, dated November 28, 1855. In the letter, Edward informs his family he will be unable to travel home for Thanksgiving as he is required to be present as witness and officer for two court cases, which he had hoped would be finished the day before. One case is in liquor seizure and the other for two individuals arrested for dealing in lottery. He goes on to tell of how he must also do the work of the City Marshal, as the marshal is out sick, and how he is enjoying the name of being a good officer.
