- Letter from Alvin Russell Davis to Eva Norcross and Marion Norcross dated November 6, 1917. The letter is written from 'somewhere in France'. Alvin writes first to Eva, thanking her for visiting his mother and for her letters. He worries that his father does not have any hired help and that his mother will be lonely. Alvin reminds Eva that she can seal her letters as only those from France are checked. He encloses a letter from Marion saying much the same and asking her to give his best to their friends. He tells her he is in a small French village and that he can hear the guns on a clear night.
