Undated photograph of Millville Cemetery in Concord, NH. The caption states, "Millville Cemetery 1798 Warrent of August 11, 1798 Article 6 To see if the Town will fence a piece of Land for a burying yard near John Curriers House or any part thereof-- Town Legal Meeting August 27, 1798 Article 6 Voted that the Selectmen fence a quarter of an acer of Land near John Curriers house with post and boards for a burring Yard. From this we learn the time when the cemetery near St. Paul's School was established to accommodate the inhabitants of the southwest section of the town. It has been enlarged twice, the first time in 1848, by the town, and a second time by St. Paul's School, in which vest the title to this addition. In the St. Paul's School section repose the remains of Rev. Henry E. Coit, D. D., the first rector of the school. In 1852 the town provided it with a hearse. It is in charge of a committee of citizens of the vicinage and is supported by occasional appropriations made by the city council by one half of the money received for the sale of burial lots and by the income of a permanent fund, which amounted on the first day of January, 1906, to $785."
