Scope and Content:
Letter from Lucinda H. Silsby in Hillsborough, NH, to her brother, George H.H. Silsby, in Concord, NH, dated March 13, 1836. In the letter, Lucinda provides many reasons that her brother should not move to Alabama, including that he is only nineteen years old; that his constitution may not be suited for the climate, thus leading to a short life; and that he would be surrounded by strangers rather than his family. She implores him to think of her and their mother, but goes on to say if his mind is made up they will not object.
