- Letter from Governor Noah Martin in Concord, NH, to his wife, Mary J. Martin, in Dover, NH, dated December 29, 1852. In the letter, Noah writes of the beauty and peaceful sunrise, which he notes is deceptive from the true character of man who is governed by selfish motives. He notes he attended the Pennycook Lyceum last night to listen to a lecture by Governor George Boutwell, which he notes was refreshing and which he spoke with "the dignity of truth and eloquence."
