- Letter from Alvin Russell Davis in Châtel-Guyon, France, to his mother, Addie Erwin, in East Sullivan, NH, dated November 17, 1918. In the letter, Alvin writes that he hopes to be back with his company soon and that there were parades of French and Americans when they heard the news the war was over. He writes of how he is looking forward to home meals including her canning, pies, and cake. Alvin writes that Germany is asking the United States for food, which is being given, but which he does not believe they would do the same. He feels "little Germany" will not start another war. Included with the letter are two poems, one titled "War" and the other "Mother".
