- Letter from Addie Erwin in East Sullivan, NH, to Bertha Stearns in Keene, NH, dated October 13, 1918. In the letter, Addie provides updates on Russell (Alvin) noting in his last letter he would write to Bertha soon, but did not have much time to do so. She notes he has been on the move since getting out of the hospital, but that he does not say how he was wounded. Addie states she has not received many letters and tries her best to keep going under the strain for the boys who are serving. She notes she heard Germany had given up to Wilson, but fears it is too good to be true. At the end of the letter, Addie writes of the sickness in Keene and everywhere else.
