The Woods Family Papers consist of legal documents (mostly deeds), financial records, correspondence, some ephemera, and a few unidentified, undated photographs. There is no record of Charles M. Woods' service in the Civil War, though there is documentation of his veteran's pension. Fannie (Woods) Wiggin was apparently a member of the Woman's Relief Corps, Albert M. Perkins Corps, No. 42 of Epping (a subsidiary of the Albert M. Perkins Post 80 Grand Army of the Republic). A letter to her from a descendent of Albert Perkins in 1943 describes a "gold" sword given to Perkins by the town of Exeter "at the time of the Civil War" - the author of the letter offers to donate the sword to the Epping's branch of the Woman's Relief Corps. There is no further correspondence or information on the matter in the papers in the collection.
