Ethel Cilley Stone's papers consist primarily of ephemera having to do with her activities in the many civic organizations and clubs in which she participated. There are also undated papers she wrote about New Hampshire history and other topics, perhaps given at meetings of those clubs. Her writings include notes about the family history from unidentified sources Stone Family Papers also include Andrew Jackson Stone's papers, all of which relate to his Civil War service. There are letters home describing his marches and activities, and letters from friends and fellow soldiers describing his death and burial. There is no documentation of his time in California, though Ethel C. Stone's papers include notes taken from an unknown source with information about his trips there and back, as well as scattered information about his experiences in California. Other letters among the Stone Family papers are from various extended family members living in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and New York State.
