Stroud was in the United States Army Air Force and completed his ground training in various bases throughout the United States. Multiple letters to Stroud are from members of the local Baptist Church community in Belmont, NH. The letters range from August 1944 to March 1946. Some of the letters contain newspaper clippings and one contains a sea shell sent home as a souvenir.
