- Letter from Franklin Pierce to Mrs. Pierce, care of H.H. Carroll, Concord, N.H. Tells of a revival in the Methodist Church under the preaching of Mr. Moffit; the temperance cause too is making rapid progress. Two of the Senators, Mr. Bagby of Alabama and Mr. Dixon of Rhode Island have been very sick, the latter dying that morning of congestive pleurisy. Affectionate family letter. Franked on back.
