- Letter from Josiah Bartlett in Kingston, NH, to G. Whipple, presumably William Whipple, dated December 9, 1778. In the letter, Bartlett discusses recent events in New Hampshire, noting he only just received Whipple's letter of the 17th. He states the General Court passed a resolution to send a delegate to Congress and sent a letter stating such to Whipple, but notes numerous important letters have not been making it to their intended recipients. Bartlett also discusses the passing of a state act to not accept refugees who have left and inquires about the laws of Pennsylvania regarding this issue. Bartlett then discusses state finances by noting the amount of money must be lessened or it will be worth nothing. He requests Congress take up this matter.
