- Letter from Governor Thomas Chittenden of Vermont to General John Stark dated December 15, 1781. Chittenden writes that he will call the Vermont legislature to figure out plans to deal with the dispute between Vermont and New York. Chittenden asks that Stark get the New York troops to release the Vermont prisoners and suspend their depredations to the west.
