- Letter from Cousin Invy to Gloria Nutting. Ivy is responding to a letter from Gloria. She mentions various relations and how they are doing. She talks about how on Thursday there was quite a celebration with the factory whistles blowing and church bells ringing when peace was thought to be declared but then they found out it has not been officially declared and then on Monday morning the whistles blew and bells rang and the celebrations occurred again. Apparently 36 boys had left the morning before to report for duty but they returned the same night because peace had been declared. She concludes thanking her for her letter and asks that she writes again.
