Letter from Muriel Smith to her daughter Shirley Jane Smith in Rochester, NH, dated October 29, 1947. In the letter, Muriel tells of how glad she was to get Shirley and Daddy's letter yesterday as she had not heard from them for three or four months and was quite worried. Muriel then notes her release is being put through and so long as she has a filing job in some office, she will be quite happy with her next post, though she still does not know when she will be discharged to the states. She ends the letter by discussing her potential travel plans to Madrid, Spain, should her leave be approved.
