Account book of Hannah Osgood dated 1762 through 1782. Osgood married James Osgood in Haverhill, MA, in 1831, and shortly after they moved to Concord, NH, where they opened a tavern on Main Street. Following James Osgood's death, Hannah took control of the tavern. She sold this tavern to her son-in-law Andrew MacMillan in 1761 and built a second tavern slightly further north on Main Street. Hannah Osgood's son, Richard Hazen Osgood, then took over this tavern, and Hannah opened a third tavern on Main Street. This tavern was known as a meeting place for people who supported the Revolutionary War. Records in the account book likely come from Osgood's time managing her last two taverns. Entries cover meals, drinks, and overnight stays, as well as the needs of the tavern's horses. There are some references to Osgood's slaves in the volume.
