Volume two of the Thomas B. Leaver letter books contains copies of letters that Leaver wrote to his family in Concord, NH, during the American Civil War from February 24, 1862 to June 24, 1862. Most of the copies are handwritten, but some are newspaper clippings from the Independent Democrat, which printed Leaver's letters. Leave writes home about his life in the war including the Battle of Fair Oaks, camp life, and his feelings on the war and the "Rebels."
