- Photographic print of the New Hampshire State Hospital on Penacook Lake in Concord, NH, dated 1890. The caption states, "New Hampshire State Hospital Penacook Lake 1890 Razed in 1917 The State had a track of about fifty-three acres on the west side of the pond. The city purchased the grounds in 1917 for $15,000. This house was upon a commanding spot, erected in 1890 and had accommodations for about twenty female patients. At a distance of about forty rods in 1897 another was built for the use of male patients. These houses and grounds had an abundant supply of water."
