Photographic print of the front of the A. H. Britton & Co. at 10 North Main Street in Concord, NH, dated 1915. The caption states, "10 N. Main St 1915 This business was established in 1885 by Frank O. Scribner and George W. Britton, under the firm name of Scribner & Britton. Upon the death of Mr. Scribner, in 1895, his interest was purchased by Arthur H. Britton. Later the senior Mr. Britton disposed of his interest to Edward W. Houghlett, and three years from that time the latters' interest was purchased by Mr. A. H. Britton. The growth of the business had been steady and increased to trade all over Merrimack County. The store occupied two floors and a basement. Aside from a full line of hardware, stoves, paint, oil and glass there was a sheet-metal workshop, doing all kinds of tin, sheet-iron and copper work."
