The caption states, "Millvile Cemetery Dimond Lot EZEKIEL DIMOND, common ancestor of the families came to Concord about 1750. He was the first settler on the farm nowknown as the Abbot place on Dimond Hill, he lived in a log house on the brow of the hill. He became an extensive landowner, and had a proprietor's right. During the period of Indian troubles they lived in the garrison around the house of Rev. Mr. Walker. When their first daughter was eighteen months old the garrison gate fell on her, and hurt her head so badly that life was despaired for some time; but she providentiallt recovered, with no other injury than the loss of sight of her left eye. In their log-house the family was often alarmed by the Indians and moved back and forth from their farm to the Fort. Once when alarmed by the Indians, Mrs. Dimond had a web in her loom, and she took out the yarn beam and wound the reed and harness about it, carried it to the Fort and wove it out there. They had ten children, seven sons and three daughters, all of the sons except one lived to be over 70 years of age, and two were between 80 and 90. Their second child, a daughter lived to be 75."
