Blanchard, John C. W. Moore, Dr. This photograph made in 1891. Moving the Blanchard Building for the widening of Pleasant Street. From the Daily Monitor - A QUICK JOB. Blanchard Building Start Out for Broadway The work of moving the Blanchard buildings across the tracks of the Concord street railway was successfully accomplished last night and business has been carried on today without interruption. As soon as the last car has returned to the city shortly after 11 o'clock the cross wires were taken down by Supt. Peirce assisted by the Boston expert secured by Mr. Blanchard, allowing the trolley wire to lie upon the ground thus saving the expense of cutting it. So well had the preliminary work been done that the work of moving the practically three buildings went forward without a hitch or a slip and at 5:25 this morning the job had been compleated [completed] and the railroad wires again put back in their places. Geo. L. Theobald superintended operations and it is credit enough for him to say that it was the quickest and neatest piece of work of its kind ever done in the state. 1957 - this house is now on Gilmore Street Nos. 3 and 5."
