Poster of a food chart issued by the United States Department of Agriculture during World War II and published by the U.S. Government Printing Office in 1943. The poster states, "For Health...eat some food / from each group...every day! / U.S. NEES US STRONG / EAT THE BASIC 7 EVERY DAY / IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC 7... / EAT ANY OTHER FOODS YOU WANT." The poster also lists out the seven food groups in a colorful wheel with pictures and includes information on preparation and other additions.
