Supplement to the Local Record, a newspaper published in Dover, NH, containing two letters. The first letter, identified as being from Durham, NH, and signed by "Fair Play" discusses local politics, noting Durham has always been a Democratic town until the Know-Nothing party upset things. The letter goes on to say how a plot to divide the party was successful and their Democratic candidate, Joseph Bartlett, was defeated. The second letter responds to the arguments in the first, notably that Durham has not always been Democratic and that the caucus called was illegal. This letter is signed "x." This supplement is dated circa 1856.
