- These papers primarily represent the activities of officers and enlisted men in the 2d and 3d companies of the 22nd Regiment of the New Hampshire Militia in Lyndeborough. The bulk of the materials relate to David Putnam, captain of the militia's 2d company and also town selectman. Other papers relate to the 3d company, of which Putnam also seems to have been a part. Ebenezer Hutchins, Jr., captain of the company in 1812, is represented by his muster book. In addition, Jonathan Chamberlin, Jr., is represented by a letter from her brother Osgood Johnson regarding the death of their father and the poor health of their mother.
