Letter from S. M. Knight in Washington, DC, dated March 30, 1855. In the letter, Knight offers his services to obtain an increase in the pension of Sarah Clough. He discusses the requirements for the increase and notes his fees based on the extent of services performed. Written along the side of the letter is a note that an act of Congress allows Revolutionary soldiers and widows to claim 160 acres of land, of which his fee is $2 to obtain such a claim.
