- Letter from Calvin Burbank in Harrisons Landing, VA, to his cousins dated July 21, 1862. In the letter, Calvin discusses in detail the travels of his regiment and the battles they took part in, noting the great loss of life on both sides of the war. He notes they are still on their way to their destination and hopes the war will be over soon because of the enormous cost of the war in both blood and treasure.
