- Provenance:
- One of four carved dogs, Bulldog, English Cocker Spaniel, Welsh Terrier, and Havanese, made by Omer Marcoux (1898-1982) and given to the donor's grandfather, Dr. Thomas Minot Dudley (1897-1976) of Concord. Sarah Dudley believes that the carvings may have been given in lieu of payment. Dr. Dudley retired in 1975 after 51 years, and Marcoux moved to the US in 1930 and began carving dogs in 1932, so that gives us a range of 1932 to 1975 for when Marcoux could have carved the dogs and given them to Dr. Dudley.
