Notes:
Governor Plumer, Biographies: "Jonathan Rundlett was one of the earliest settlers of Epping in New Hampshire. He was the first ensign in the militia in that town, and to his dying day was designated by that title. In those times an ensign was considered a greater mark of distinction than a colonel is now. He was a zealous, conscientious member of the congregational society, and I think of the church. He was an upright and honest man; of a mild temper, an easy, kind, and obliging disposition. A man of great industry and frutgality. Temperate in his diet and regimen; and enjoyed a state of sound uninterrupted health. He died the fourth of March 1804 aged ninety eight years."
