Re. 1908.006: From note found inside object: "Sugar bowl that belonged to Mrs. Gen. Aquila Davis [Gen. Davis lived from 1760-1835] bought by George Hilliard Davis at the auction of his uncle, Nathaniel, who was one of the sons of Aquila. It was sold in the settlement of estate of Mrs. Aquila. G. Hilliard Davis was the only brother of Mrs. Augusta G. Chase from whose estate this is loaned by the residuary legatee. Signed John F. Terry." Gen. Davis' wife was Abigail Stevens born in 1762.
