- Re. 1839.2, donated by Jesse Eaton: Family history has it that this "communion cup or beaker [was] brought over from England in 1660 by Deacon Enoch Eaton" of Salisbury, NH. Apparent history of ownership in N.H. going back at least to 18th century, however, it may have been via a different ancestor (perhaps John Eaton who came from England to Massachusetts by 1640) -- the only reference found thus far to Deacon Enoch Eaton is in Dearborn's history of Salisbury, NH (NJC, 2006).
