- History: Lawyer. Born July 11, 1837 at Concord, NH. A.M. Brown University, 1857; LL . B. Harvard, 1859. Married Mary Clifford Greene of Providence, RI, 1861. Admitted to bar 1859, practiced in Concord. He was president of the Concord Mutual Fire Ins. Co., the NH Savings Bank, the Concord Portsmouth R.R. and other companies. Member of Concord Bd. of Education for 12 years, city treasurer, NH House of Representatives 1883 (speaker) 1893; NH Bar Assoc. (pres. 1905); served as corresponding secretary, librarian and president of N.H.H.S. and was instrumental in establishing location of new building. Author of "White Mountain Guide book.
