Kidder settled in Dunstable (now Nashua), NH, in 1766. The following year he married Mary (White) Badger (1738-1835) of Haverhill, MA. "After the Revolution his church was troubled by Baptists, but according to a neighbor he 'acted wisely and like a Hero' in dealing with them. Dismissed 'for inability' on June 15, 1796, he sued his parish for his back pay, but continued to preach and exercise his pastoral function. Because of his failing health, a 'colleague' was ordained on Nov. 3, 1814. He died of a paralytic stroke on Sept. 6, 1818.
