"In his will, Daniel Emery bequeathed 60 pounds for use of the ministry, of which 10 pounds was for Communion plate, 20 pounds more for the first church which should be gathered at Chester, NH, and a minister ordained; 20 pounds for Nottingham, NH, 20 pounds to the Parish in which he belonged, 25 pounds to Mr. Tufts, 50 pounds to his kinsman (Rev. Stephen Emery) in College, and 1,000 pounds to his brothers and sisters, besides providing liberally for his widow."
