- Description:
- Editors note accompanying article: Many people were shocked with Lawrence Thompson's first volume of Frost's biography, The Early Years, in which he pictured Frost as a scheming, ungracious status seeker. Last fall, the second volume, The Years of Triumph, was published. It seems to support this claim by presenting everything that's damaging about the poet while supressing so much that is favorable. We've recenty received a number of thoughtful rebuttals for possible publication in Yankee by people who knew Frost well, but found this little description of a single evening in Frost's life to the the other side in a proverbial nutshell.
