- Description:
- The affinities linking the poetry of Robert Frost and the woodcuts of J.J. Lankes were remarked upon well before the two men began to form personal ties in the summer of 1923. However, from that time forward their many connections have been noted by critics within the graphic and printgin arts and,to a lesser degree by several Frost biographers. While the former have observed similarities of subject, theme, tone, and perspective, the latter have by and large alluded to the friendship...The Frost-Lankes connection lasted more than four decades...This study addresses the entire scope of the association.
