- Description:
- An unsigned document found in the Rockingham Papers of the Sheffield Central Library in Great Britain, is Governor John Wentworth's own account of the raids on Fort William and Mary. Printed here, it discloses details and reveals that Wentworth, normally prudent and practical, refused to pardon participants in the first raid although it might have prevented the second one. The document also reveals the open hostility towards the British government and its representatives, especially Wentworth.
