- Description:
- It is difficult to describe economic class in Colonial New Hampshire due to changes in currency and inflation. The lists in this article divide the colonial parts of the eighteenth century into three twenty year periods: 1701-1720, 1721-1740, 1741-1761, and one ten year period 1761-1771 (out of convenience). Fifty inventories have been sampled for each time period, broken into economic classes, and listed in descending order of wealth. These classes are described as: wealthy , prosperous, middle, lower, and poor.
