- Description:
- Francis Blake (1850-1912), a prosperous inventor and scientist, took numerous photographs in the White Mountains during stays there in the 1880's. Blake's photographs include extensive documentation of Glen House, Pinkham Notch, where his family summered from 1875 to 1893. Although photography was Blake's hobby, his photographs were good enough to be in considerable demand. They were even used in a number of exhibitions and in various publications.
