Scope and Content:

The Harry Elmore Hurd Papers are comprised of documents and photographs compiled over the pastor and poet's life and shortly after his death. The documents are separated into seven folders. The first contains his birth certificate and a flier from a church he was the pastor of. The second folder contains drafts and copies of publications (including two editions of The New Hampshire Troubadour, June 1949 and March 1950) of Harry Elmore Hurd's works. The third folder contains examples of his correspondence with fans and editors. The fourth folder contains articles about Harry Elmore Hurd. The fifth folder contains documentation of his estate sale. The sixth and seventh folders contain various photographs, for the most part of Harry Elmore Hurd. The typed drafts of poems comprise only a fraction of his body of work, and there is only one handwritten draft among them. There is virtually no record of his personal life in the collection.
