The slate is inscribed, "Orders for Laconia Alton, & Pittsfield Express Leave Alton for Pittsfield Mondays Wednesdays Fridays at 1 Oclock, Leave Alton for Laconia, Tuesdays Thursdays & Saturdays at 1 Oclock."
